Sandie Barrie-Blackley is the owner and founder of the Language & Learning Clinic, PLLC, a private practice specializing in communication disorders, including disorders of reading and written language. As she has for over 30 years, Ms. Barrie-Blackley uses a service delivery model focused on parent training and home-based treatment. She has training and experience with a variety of structured language methods: The Association Method, The Orton-Gillingham Method, The Lindamood-Bell Learning Systems Individual Phoneme Sequencing Program (LiPS) and Visualizing and Verbalizing Program, The Phono-Graphix Method, and The Language! Curriculum.

Sandie Barrie-Blackley is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders at The University of NC -Greensboro (UNC-G) and serves as the Department’s Distance Learning Coordinator. She served two terms on the NC Board of Examiners (the licensing board) for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists, is a former president of the North Carolina Speech-Hearing-Language Association , and a Board Member of NC Branch of the International Dyslexia Association.
In 1998 she received the highest clinical award of the North Carolina Speech, Hearing and Language Association, the Clinical Achievement Award, awarded each year to the State's most outstanding clinician.
