Qualifications I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Connecticut and a Nationally Certified Counselor.
Practice Description I treat each and every client based on their own, unique needs and wants in the therapy treatment process. I utilize my sense of humor to help connect with my clients and create a safe and supportive environment. I talk with my clients about how they can "empower" themselves today, as adults, while as children they were victims. Each person has "choices" and it is important to be aware of and acknowledge that you, as a client, can decide what to do and to do it. Some benefits that can be derived from engaging in the psychotherapy process include: learning how there are prevailing unhealthy themes and patterns in your life; getting a clearer perspective on how your thoughts have become distorted along the way in your life, becoming aware of your authentic self, digging beneath the sadness to uncover the anger, resentment, and rage, processing unresolved feelings of grief and loss, understanding the impact of childhood on your life today, transforming beliefs that are inaccurate, understanding how to increase self-esteem, and replacing negative thoughts with positive thoughts. I have changed my life during the past nine years as I transitioned to becoming a psychotherapist in midlife. I truly love my work and feel privileged to be helping people for my life's work. I look forward to hearing from you when you feel ready. Entering psychotherapy is a definite commitment. However, if you are in a vast amount of pain at the current time, there is help available. It is not worth it to suffer all alone. Please give me a call, and we can see together if this is the direction you want to head in now.
