Brooke Whitted is Chair of the Board of the Leslie Shankman School Corporation, which is an affiliated unit of the University of Chicago and operates the Sonia Shankman Orthogenic School. This is a well known residential school for emotionally disturbed children on the University of Chicago campus. Mr. Whitted is a former probation officer for the Cook County Juvenile Court and also chairs a fund that helps delinquent children in Cook County. Mr Whitted is an instructor at the University of Illinois Medical School, teaching Psychiatry and Law every summer to psychiatrists wishing to become board certified Child and Adolescent specialists. Mr. Whitted and his partners are often asked to speak before a wide variety of public groups. Mr. Whitted also trains police and other public safety officers on dealing with mentally ill subjects, victims and witnesses.
