Description Of Practice
I am imaginatively intuititve, always well grounded and consistently in touch with another's psychic structure and needs. I am a thoughtful and kind person.
I am committed to traveling with another person on a journey with his/her self-discovery. The road can be short, long, bumpy or treacherous. I love challenge.
Although trained in psychoanalysis, I employ eclectic techniques and work in the present, bearing in mind and respecting others' defenses, strengths and limitations.
I am committed to providing high-quality professional assessment and counseling/psychotherapy to people who have not accessed or have had unsatisfactory experiences with psychotherapy/psychoanalysis/counseling.
SECOND OPINIONS:
The need for a second opinion for one experiencing major change/significant life transition(s) is of value for HEALTH -- mental, physical and spiritual. During change, the terrain is stormy, bumpy, skiddy and deep. Many feel angry about changes which really disguises the depth of the fears and grief involved. Anxiety ensues and one begins to doubt whther the new is even possible.
Some examples for a SECOND OPINION:
Too long in the same therapy;
Much insight/understanding without any significant behavior change;
Much unresolved anger with therapist;
A long stalemate in therapy with seeminly little change(s);
Frequent power struggles with the therapist;
In many different therapies or therapists;
Never been in therapy
Additional Information
It is important to me to help othes manage and resolve difficulties of the heart -- love, loss and work during significant life changes/transitions; e.g., career change, job change, dealth/illness in family, injury, divorce, new marriage, new success, addiction, recovery from substance abuse, etc.
