I have been counseling for 30 years and I use an eclectic approach to fit the client's individual needs. Imago and family of origin theories are helpful for many people, along with Adlerian approaches, and cognitive behavioral approaches. There are many ways to work on emotional pain reduction and self esteem building and relationship distress.
Using telephone and online counseling can feel safer and I find that the work can go much faster because of this factor.
