Qualifications I am a graduate of Bastyr University with a doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine, board-certified through NABNE, and licensed in the State of Washington as a Naturopathic Physician.
Practice Description I encourage each client to explore their own personal definition of balance and well-being. Naturopathic counseling asks the question, "how do you want to exist in the world?". My style of counseling focuses less on the dis-ease that you (the client) suffer from, and more on the person with the dis-ease. The first step toward long-lasting health is to identify and remove the obstacles that get in the way of achieving balance and harmony. These obstacles come in many forms including abusive relationships, an unfulfilling job, overwhelming life stressors, unresolved grief and trauma, lack of community and support, and even poor diet and nutrition. A session is designed to help you recognize those aspects that do not fit your vision of how you want to exist in life.
Additional Information Training includes various psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness and somatic therapy, meditation, biofeedback, and motivational interviewing.
As a naturopathic physician, I am able to incorporate into each counseling session the use of diet and nutrition, homeopathy, botanical medicine, physical medicine, and other natural health tools to help restore and balance the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual layers of a client.
