Description Of Practice
I offer creative, compassionate psychotherapy that combines mindfulness practice with principles of Western and Buddhist approaches to psychology. I enjoy working with women, men, teens, and children age 10 and older around issues of anxiety, fear, anger, depression, stress, transitions, grief, relationships, divorce, addiction, and smoking cessation. I received my MA in counseling psychology from Antioch New England Graduate School. My spiritual practice includes dharma and meditation in both Tibetan and Burmese Vipassana teachings.
In our sessions I create a space where you can be in the present moment more fully as a conscious human being. This courageous self exploration can lead to a better understanding of how you came to have the life you have, and be the person that you are. Through acceptance (unconditional friendliness toward self and others), mindfulness, various mediums of creative, and interpersonal expression you begin to ask the question; whose story am I living by, and is this the story I want to be living? Connecting with the belief that each of us is intrinsically healthy you can begin to choose consciously, and live whole heartedly your authentic story.
Knowing that finding the right therapist can at times feel challenging, I offer a free 30 minute consultation, giving you information that will help you make an informed decision and feel empowered about your choice.
Additional Information
I have extensive training in Nonviolent Communication NVC, a model created by Marshal Rosenberg that teaches empathy and compassion towards self and others.
