Description Of Practice
Our Mission is to help children strengthen their interactive ability, appropriate behavior, and social skills. The Wanna Play Program is a program that caters to the specific needs of each individual. The intention was to develop a program that builds the interactive skills that are the foundation for interaction and developmental success. The Wanna Play Program was created to build skills for social success for children of all ages and at all stages of social development. A child with social challenges does not learn the skills necessary for successful interaction by simple observation. More direct instruction on how to socially interact is needed in order for them to learn these abstract skills.
Additional Information
At our center in Upper Darby we help children develop their social skills through individual session as well as in small group settings of peers. The directors of the program conduct workshops and conferences to help parents and teachers to support their children's social development. This book provides pratical lesson plan-style activites to help parents and teachers to incorporate social skills learning into any child's life.
