Description Of Practice
I approach each person as an individual with his or her own unique history, perceptions, emotional, and intellectual conception of the world. As a therapist, I also approach the resolution of problems as coming primarily from within the individual; each person having within themselves the impulse toward health and growth. In this way, I work to facilitate your growing confidence in your own ability to heal and become a healthy, adaptable person. I will start your treatment by taking a thorough history including the problem you bring, childhood history, relationships, and major influences. I work with dreams, fantasy material, current events, and in a collaborative manner. Treatment comes to an end when the client has found what they were looking to find, which may come in a few weeks or months, or several years. The client decides when he or she is satisfied.
Additional Information
I have engaged in many years of self-exploration and growth through my own psychodynamic inner-work. I welcome those interested in working on specific issues in the short term, as well as those interested in a deeper personal growth process. I've worked for the last six years with teens with anger issues, depression and family issues. I enjoy working with adolescents and connect well with them.
